Circuit info
A unique adventure tour highlighting our cultural and social heritage. On this tour, you’ll discover southern Tunisia: trekking with a local guide on the Chenini mountain, camel trekking, setting up camp in the middle of the desert, sand bread demonstration and desert orienteering demonstration race.
Planning
Day 1
- 8 am: Departure from Djerba to Oued El Khil accompanied by an ONTT-approved guide in a 4×4 car.
- 10 am: Arrival at Oued El Khil, 2-hour hike to Ksar Hedada accompanied by a local Oued El Khil guide, exploring unique landscapes.
- 12 am: Arrival at Ksar Hedada, visit of the Ksar and discovery of the “Star Wars” film locations.
- 1 pm: Delicious lunch, an opportunity to discover the local cuisine.
- 2 pm: Departure for Douiret
- 2:30 pm: Visit to the Berber village of Chenini, with its mountain views.
- 3 pm : Arrival in Douiret
- Half-board accommodation and overnight stay
Day 2

9 am: After breakfast, departure for Ksar Ghilane

11 am: Arrival at Ksar Ghilane

Free time: Bathing in the hot spring

1 pm: Lunch at Ksar Ghilane

After lunch we offer our guests traditional costumes

2 pm: Meet our camel team for a two-and-a-half-hour trek through the dunes.

4:30 pm: Help set up camp.

6 pm: Sunset

7 pm: Demonstration of sand bread preparation.

8 pm: Dinner around the fire

9 pm: Musical evening with traditional songs.
Day 3
- 8 am: After a delicious breakfast, we’re back on the road to Douz through the desert.
- 9 am: Road break and orienteering demonstration run in the desert.
- 10:30 am: Meet the bikes in Douz for a scenic adventure to the El Bey restaurant, crossing oases with a local guide.
- 12 am: Lunch in Douz at Restaurant El Bey; restaurant in the heart of the oasis.
- During lunch, demonstration of the local specialty of gargoulette with meat (dromedary; chicken; mutton).
- 2 pm: Departure for Tozeur via Chott Jerid, a captivating stretch of salt.
- 4 pm: Horse-drawn carriage ride through the oases of Tozeur.
- 6 pm: Half-board overnight stay at Ilot Palmiers in Tozeur.
Day 4
- 7 am: After breakfast departure for Chebika
- 8 am: Guided tour of Chebika with local guide for one hour
- 9 am: Visit to the Mides canyons
- 10 am: Visit to Tamerza
- 12 am: Lunch at restaurant les cascades in Tamerza
- 2 pm: Exciting visit to Ong Jmel, the iconic Star Wars site.
- 5 pm: Half-board overnight stay at Ilot Palmiers in Tozeur
Day 5
- 9 am: After breakfast, visit a local family in Tozeur for a traditional cooking workshop.
- 12 am: Enjoy lunch with the family, sharing authentic moments.
- 2 pm: Transfer to Tozeur airport
