This 7-day tour explores the diverse landscapes and rich heritage of Tunisia, from the bustling capital of Tunis to the serene oases and ancient ruins. The journey begins in Tunis, where you’ll discover the historic Medina, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and the Bardo Museum, home to an impressive collection of Roman mosaics. You’ll then travel to the charming village of Sidi Bou Said, known for its blue and white architecture, and the ancient city of Carthage, once a major power in the Mediterranean.

The tour continues to the north, where you’ll explore the natural beauty of Ichkeul National Park, a haven for migratory birds, and the coastal town of Tabarka, with its Genoese fort and sandy beaches. You’ll also visit the pottery village of Sejnane and the mountain village of Ain Draham, surrounded by lush forests. The journey then takes you to the heart of Tunisia, where you’ll discover the holy city of Kairouan, with its impressive mosques and medina, and the ancient Roman city of El Jem, famous for its well-preserved amphitheater.

The tour concludes with visits to the coastal cities of Monastir and Sousse, offering a blend of historical sites and seaside relaxation. Day 1

TUNIS AIRPORT – TUNIS MEDINA (UNESCO)

Arrival to Tunis airport. Pick up and drive to Tunis old town called “Medina”. The Medina was founded by the first Arab conquerors and it is full of monuments from both the Arab and Turkish periods, not least the Great Mosque built by the Aghlabid dynasty in the eighth century AD. Check in at the Charm hotel Dar El Jeld, located inside the Medina.

Day 2

SIDI BOU SAID – CARTHAGE (UNSECO)

After breakfast, we begin our day by visit to the town of Sidi Bou Said. The blue and white village under the UNESCO protection thanks to its Turkish, Spanish Andalusian and Arabic styles of architecture mixed together. Sidi Bou Said is the village of the artists’ inspiration, musicians and celebrities. We invite customers to enjoy mint tea with Tunisian cake. Free time in the picturesque village to take picture and for a walking tour. Continue to discover the extraordinary house of Dar Al Annabi Museum, retracing the way of life from the time of the Beys with characters, all dressed in traditional outfits, in several rooms to reconstruct family celebrations at that time. Drive to the site of ancient Carthage. Founded by Phoenician traders from the Levant as a trading depot en route to south-west Europe, it eventually became an independent and powerful entity in its own right. This aroused Rome’s long-term enmity and there followed the famous Punic Wars whicheventually saw Carthage’s total destruction. Subsequently re-founded by the Romans we will look over what remains of both cities. This will include the Byrsa Hill where Carthage was founded, c. 814 BC according to Roman sources; a site featuring the characteristic Tophet Graves of the Carthaginians; and the Archaeological Park centred on the Antonine Baths. Moving to Bardo Museum in Tunis, which has the finest collections of Roman mosaics in the world. There are also some interesting Early Christian mosaics which introduce the manner in which Christian art developed. The biggest Tunisian museum derives its reputation from its countless pieces coming from the excavations undertaken in the country since the XIXth Century. The quality and the rarity of many of these pieces bear witness to the country’s historical richness and uniqueness. Departure north to Bizerte. Check in at a rural cottage Dar Ichkeul. Day 3

BIZERTE- ICHKEL PARK (UNESCO)- SEJNANE- TABARKA

Early morning typical breakfast and special meeting Yoga in the middle of nature. Depart to the lake and the wetlands of Ichkeul constitute an essential staging post for hundreds of thousands of migratory birds – ducks, geese, storks, flamingos, etc. who come to feed and nest there. The lake is the last remnant of a chain of lakes that once stretched across North Africa. Lake Ichkeul is the last great freshwater lake in a chain that once stretched across North Africa. Characterized by a very particular hydrological functioning based on a double seasonal alternation of water levels and salinity, the lake and the marshes which surround it constitute an essential relay for hundreds of thousands of migratory birds which come to winter at the Ichkeul. Day 4

TABARKA- AIN DRAHEM- BULLA REGIA- EL KEF

After breakfast, we’ll discover Tabarka, which is a completely different type of location. Visit of the old Genoese Fort faithfully watches over this small coastal town, its fishing harbour and its marina. Visit of «La maison de corail»; a traditional jewerly store made by the hands of city’s woman to highlight the country’s red gold . Continue to explore Ain Draham is a small village in northwest Tunisia, about 25km south of Tabarka. Its name which means “source of money” evokes according to some a source of water exploited by the first French camp installed on the spo. Free time at the camping center at Beni M’tir outdoors for a typical lunch. Then drive to Bulla Regia It’s one of the most prominent Roman sites in the country and contains everything from small baths and cisterns, to a whole theatre and various villas. A lot of the remains happen to be underground, with this being one of the principle methods of construction that the Romans used to deploy, meaning that this attraction really is one of a kind and just has to be visited by any history enthusiast. Departure to the northwest of Tunisia and the mountainous town of Le Kef Check in at the guest house Dar Alyssa. Day 5

EL KEF – MAKTHER- KESRA – KAIROUAN

After a typical homemade breakfast, drive to the west of Tunisia to discover once the most prosperous Roman city in this area, ancient Mactaris has lain in ruins since it was devastated by invading Arab tribes in 1050 AD. Visit of the archeological site of Makthar, the site has several megaliths, large slabs evidently used in the burial of ashen remains. Excavations by Mansour Ghaki of an intact burial chamber uncovered many ceramics of various origins, both local and imported, dating from the early third century BC. A hike to Kesra to discover the highest village in Tunisia since it’s at an altitude of 1100 meters. Lunch seated in a Berber carpet on the terrace of Kesra museum which offers a magnificent panorama towards the forest, enjoying the dishes prepared by the woman of the village. Drive through some remarkable scenery on the way south to the atmospheric city of Kairouan. Known as “Al Kairawan”, where the first Arab ruled from the first capital of Islam in North Africa. Vsit of Kairouan’s Medina feels like it ebbs and flows to a different rhythm to modern Tunisia. Long protected by its monumental walls and door (gates), most of it is given over to quiet residential streets that have changed little over the centuries, with modest houses sporting arches and shutters painted in bright blues and greens. Particularly atmospheric pockets include the small squares near the door and the covered souq. Check in at the Boutique hotel “Golden Yasmin La Kasbah”. Outside dinner at the restaurant of « Dar Abderrahman Zarrouk» a delightful, charing and beautiful historical house lovingly restored with delicious meals typically homemade.

Day 6

KAIROUAN – EL JEM- MONASTIR – SOUSSE- HAMMAMET

After breakfast will explore more Kairouan this city remains a purely Arab city filled with outstanding examples of the finest Islamic architecture in Tunisia. Visit of the Great Mosque of OKBA, the oldest place of worship in North Africa, visit of the mausoleum of Sidi Sahbi, a companion and a disciple of the Prophet Mohamed, we will visit also the impressive water reservoirs, built in the 9th century to collect and store winter rainwater. Continue to El Jem and visit of the impressive Roman amphitheater from the third century AD. Drive to Monastir city, a popular seaside resort, between Medina and sandy beaches. Visit the old town, haggle in the souks, stroll along the seafront facing the Marina. Visit to the monument which gives the city its fame: its large Ribat. This Middle Age fortress is a real labyrinth of courtyards and round and square towers. Continue to the touristic city of Sousse and visit of the old Medina and the Marina of port El Kantaoui then departure to Hammamet. Check in at the Guest house “Dar Hammamet”. Dinner and overnight.

Day 7

HAMMAMET – NABEUL – WINERY – HAMMAMET

After breakfast, walking tour at the old Medina of Hammamet, the old narrow streets, the open doors of the houses, the delicious aromas of Tunisian dishes, the colorful shops and welcoming Tunisian sellers. visit of the Fort, has a great panoramic views over Mediterranean sea and Hammamet. Then you could have a rest with a cup of delicious coffee made up with a rose water. Nabeul lies 18km north of Hammamet and is considered the capitol administrative city of Cap Bon, the Nabeul Governorate. The history of the town goes back to the Roman times, when it was called ‘Neapolis’. Widely known as the capital of pottery and ceramics manufacturing, Nabeul is also a center for the production of garum, a seasoning for all sorts of food. Make sure you get there on Fridays when the town’s weekly souk (market) is held, offering a wide range of wonderful Tunisian stuff on souvenir and tourist stalls. Depart to «Dar Nabeul» to visit a cooking show whorkshop based on Harissa (World Intangible Heritage UNESCO). Free time for tasting and discovering the different smells Late afternoon, drive to Bou Argoub to discover the vineyards of the famous wine route and for the tasting of the finest wines of Tunisia at Château Bacchus. At the end of this day, you will have a free time to visit one of a our traditional bath (Hammam) and you will enjoy our traditional Spa. Overnight at the guest house Dar Hammamet.
